Do I have to share a room?

No, rooms aren’t shared. If you book a standard room, then you will share a separate toilet and shower room with one other person. En-suite rooms with their own shower and toilet are also available.

How long can I stay?

Standard tenancies for the academic year are for 50 weeks, however from depending on occupancy levels we may have availability for shorter term rentals. Feel free to get in touch to find out more.

Do I have to pay bills?

All bills (including electricity, gas, and water) and WIFI are included in the rent. You will need to purchase your own licence if you want to watch live TV or use BBC iPlayer in your room.


What activities can I do at the bridge?

At the bridge we aim to create a vibrant student community. To encourage this, we organise welcome and other activities during the academic year to enable residents to get to know one another and make the most of student life in Guildford. We also have an activity room with a variety of games usually available, including pool and table tennis.


Can you cater for my dietary needs?

The Bridge Kitchen is a fully equipped commercial kitchen staffed by professional chefs. The Catering Manager holds regular meetings with residents to discuss requirements. We can cater for most dietary needs, but we would advise contacting us before booking to make sure.

Can I cook my own food?

Each corridor of rooms has access to a kitchenette with a shared fridge, kettle and microwave oven. We do not provide any additional cooking facilities, and cooking within study bedrooms is prohibited.

Are there places I can study/work in the building?

There are several areas in the building available for studying. We have the Bridge Kitchen, the residents’ lounge, lots of sofas and picnic benches overlooking the river as well as the ACM library (open Monday to Saturday during term time) which is located within the building.

Where can I do laundry?

We have laundry facilities onsite.

I am a musician; is there anywhere I can practice?

From September 2020 we will have a dedicated music practice room which residents will be able to book out for up to 90 minutes / day.

Where can I store my bike?

From September 2020 we will have a covered bike storage room which can store up to 14 bikes.



Do I need a UK guarantor?

UK guarantors are preferred. However, alternative arrangements can be made with prior agreement. Please contact us to discuss this further.

Do I need to pay a deposit?

Yes. Our rooms require a deposit as described in the table below.
